Here is the work around. Any YouTube app on your phone, tablet, or TV does NOT support the join button. You can only use it direct to YouTube from a internet browser (chrome, safari, edge, etc) Once you are on one of them type in https://www.youtube.com/c/pegrobinson www dot youtube dot com /pegrobinson/ join without spaces and with real dots This should open a little box that allows you to click to join this channel and go to payment options. Credit card, Paypal, or Gpay are the payment choices. Membership is in 'beta' at the moment so this is probably why it is not on the applications. Thanks everyone.
